Tofu Plasters

These treatments are cooling. Thus, they are used to remove heat from the body. They can be used for moderate to high fevers. Put the plaster on the forehead or on the nape of the neck to help relieve a fever. For a headache, use the plaster over the aching area.

Tofu Plaster #1:

  • 60% tofu
  • 40% wheat flour

Put the tofu in a clean cloth and gently squeeze out the water. Next, place the squeezed tofu in a bowl and add the flour. Mix thoroughly. Put the mixture on a clean cloth, spreading it evenly to a depth of about 1/4 inch thick. Bandage the plaster in place. Change the plaster every two hours, when the plaster is halfway dry, or when it turns yellow - whichever comes first. You can turn the plaster over and use the other side. Then, discard the original plaster and repeat the process with a freshly made plaster. Check the user's temperature regularly to make sure their temperature does not drop too low!

Tofu Plaster #2:

  • 75% tofu
  • 20% wheat flour
  • 5% fresh grated ginger root

Proceed as instructed above.

For babies (or adults) with mild headaches, try using grated apples as a plaster.
